First Subsea, welcomed Prince Albert II of Monaco to its stand at the oil and gas industry's Deepwater Offshore Technology (DOT) conference in Monaco last week. "He made a bee line for the First Subsea stand and was impressed with the simplicity of our world beating Ballgrab subsea mooring connector," said Brian Green, general manager, First Subsea Ltd.
Also at the DOT conference, First Subsea presented a paper on the deepwater mooring challenges facing oil and gas operators as they move to increasingly deeper water. It also launched the first of a series of 'next generation' deepwater fibre rope connectors developed in co-operation with Lankhorst Ropes, part of the Royal Lankhorst Euronete group, the world's leading supplier of marine and offshore ropes.
