Flexible Risers and Umbilicals

With increasing focus on field development and longer tie backs, First Subsea's range of self-energising, ROV-less and diverless bend stiffener connectors are enabling operators to perform faster and safer installations of flexible risers and umbilicals to 'crowded' platforms, FPSOs and Buoys.

The First Subsea Diverless Bend Stiffener Connectors (DBSCs) comprise a Ballgrab connector and bend stiffener.

First Subsea DBSCs offer:

• Diverless and ROV-less installation

• Quick and easy engagement

• Simple release procedure.

There are two types of Diverless Bend Stiffener Connectors (DBSCs) reflecting the demands of the offshore environment and application:

Type I allows risers and umbilicals to be installed in existing "I/J" tube bellmouths, the connection is completed using an ROV.

Type II is for new build applications where the DBSC female connector is pre-installed, and the connection can be completed with or without a ROV.
