Bend Stiffener Connectors at Offshore Europe 2015

Subsea connector specialist, First Subsea, is exhibiting its industry leading, diverless and ROV-less bend stiffener connectors for umbilicals, power cables and risers at Offshore Europe 2015, on stand E3 65.

Based on mature Ballgrab ball and taper gripping technology, the bend stiffener connectors (BSC) enable a simpler riser / umbilical connection. In addition, the BSC expands the installation window by allowing connector deployment in less favourable conditions than those needed for diver installation or in waters too shallow for effective ROV operation.

First Subsea BSC can be readily installed in existing I/J tubes, as well as new installations where the BSC’s receptacle is pre-installed. Both types of connector can be readily latched and delatched as needed, and stored subsea ahead of installation.
