🛠️ Highly anticipated renovations are well underway at First Subsea HQ currently, meaning our teams are working remotely whilst the team at SR Design & Build are working their magic.

Though it’s still business as usual, and there are plenty of benefits to working from home (where every day is bring your pet to work day 🐾) it’s highlighted how valuable the physical workspace can be – especially within an engineering led company.

Here’s why working from the office is so valuable for us;

👨‍💻 Real-time problem solving
Whiteboards. Prototypes. Popping down to the workshop. Nothing beats being able to turn around, discuss, see things in action and problem solve together – instantly.

👩‍🏫 Mentorship in action.
Working in the office allows our senior team members to offer quick feedback and real-time coaching to apprentices, those early in their careers or those new to the team. In person mentorship allows the team to learn by doing, sharing knowledge and asking questions – in real time.

🤝 Cross-team collaboration
Working closely between sales, projects, design, manufacturing and quality teams fosters stronger alignment and fewer surprises down the line. In-person collaboration helps us design for real-world solutions.

💚 Culture you can feel
Monday morning chats by the kettle, quick design debates, fantasy football leagues, shared project wins, Friday morning breakfast deliveries, town hall meetings bringing people from across departments together – these things build camaraderie, trust and a strong collaborative team.
